What is a LAN?

Local Area Network - A network that covers a small geological area e.g. school, a home, an office

What is a WAN?

Wide Area Network - A network that covers a large geological area and connects LANs together often using rented infrastructure like telephone lines.

What is a wireless network?

A wifi without cables and wires that connects devices together using radio waves, usually through wifi.

What’s the difference between Client-Server and peer-to-peer networks?

Client-Server networks have dedicated servers controlling the network. Peer-to-peer networks have no central, all devices are equal.

What is a network topology?

The layout or structure of how decides are connected in a network

Name the types of Network Topologies

Star, Mesh, Bus, Ring, Tree

What are network protocols?

Rules that define how devices communicate over a network such as TCP/IP HTTP FTP

What is the internet?

A global network or networks that allows devices worldwide to communicate
