File Management
The organization of Files and Folders on a Disk.
File name Extension
The suffix added to the base name of a computer file, such as .docx.
Hardware
The computer's physical parts like monitor, keyboard, hard drive, speaker, etc.
System software
The software that controls the computer and is the most important software of your system.
ALU
Arithmetic and Logic Unit; the part of the CPU responsible for performing mathematical operations.
Processing
The handling of data according to specified rules to produce information.
Laptop computers
Computers considered more flexible and battery-fueled compared to desktops.
Server
A computer that serves up data to different PCs on a system.
Smartphones
Cell phones that can do a great deal of things that PCs can, such as perusing the Internet and playing diversions.
CPU
Central Processing Unit; the unit that executes all instructions, performs the central role, and is considered the brain of the computer.
RAM
Random Access Memory; temporary memory used to hold data and instructions while the computer is running.
ROM
Read Only Memory; memory where data is permanently written and used to hold instructions for starting up the computer.
Cloud Drive
A web-based service that provides storage space on a remote server.
Freeware
Copyrighted software available for free for a certain period of time.
EULA
A legal agreement between a software developer and the user.
Cyber Crimes Law
Deals with the protection of private data and acts against the illegal use of personal information.
Cloud Computing
Technology that offers benefits such as reduced hardware costs, access to latest versions, and high security.
Title bar
The bar that appears at the top of an MS Word screen.
Status Bar
The bar that displays current information about a document, such as the number of pages and words.
Clipboard
A storage area in MS Word that can hold a maximum of 24 items.
Justify
An alignment option that aligns text so that the left and right margins look well aligned.
Line spacing
The amount of space between two lines in a document.
Equation Tool
Located on the Insert tab, used to add mathematical expressions such as A=r2 to a document.
Spelling mistake
An error in text indicated by a red wavy underline in MS Word.
Blue underline
A visual indicator in MS Word that represents a grammar or contextual mistake.
Fill feature
An Excel feature that automatically fills in data in a worksheet based on the original contents.
Workbook
The Excel file format, which is distinct from an individual worksheet.
