Superficial - Deep - Superficial
A massage technique that begins with light pressure to warm tissues and increase circulation, moves to deeper, focused work, and ends with light pressure to soothe.
General - Specific - General
A massage approach that starts by treating a large area, targets a specific issue, and then returns to a general, relaxing massage of the area.
Proximal - Distal - Proximal
A technique used on limbs where the massage starts closer to the torso, moves to the extremity, and then returns to the torso, aiding blood and lymph flow.
Peripheral - Central - Peripheral
An approach primarily used for injuries, starting on the surrounding areas, moving toward the center of the injury, and then back to the periphery to manage pain and reduce inflammation.
