Ogburn’s Theory on Technology and Social Change

The first stage of technical development according to Ogburn, where new forms of technology like the computer and communication technology are developed.
Discovery
The second stage of technical development according to Ogburn, referring to new ways of understanding and perceiving reality through technology.
Diffusion
The third stage of technical development according to Ogburn, referring to the spread of technology from the point of discovery to other regions.

The radio station used by Jaime Cardinal Sin in 1986 to broadcast an urgent appeal for Filipinos to protect Juan Ponce Enrile and Fidel Ramos during the EDSA revolution.
EDSA II

An application for humanitarian response that uses crowd-sourced reporting and government validation to increase disaster resilience and facilitate emergency cooperation.

A movement organized in 2013 by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi to combat anti-black racism and police violence using the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter.
Me Too Movement
A movement focusing on the experiences of sexual violence survivors that gained mainstream awareness in 2017 via the hashtag #MeToo.
