All the processes which together perform the maintenance job and are essential for sustaining life, such as nutrition, respiration, transportation, and excretion.
Metabolism
The collective term for various biochemical reactions that take place inside living organisms which are essential to perform metabolic activities.
Cells
The tiny structural and functional units that make up all living organisms.
Protoplasm
Commonly called living matter and cell organelles that make up cells.
Nutrition
The life process of obtaining and utilising nutrients.
Respiration
The life process of obtaining and utilising energy.
Excretion
