Autoimmune Pancreatitis
An autoimmune inflammatory process characterized by lymphocyte infiltration, associated fibrosis, and organ dysfunction.
DRB10405-DQBI0401
The specific genetic predisposition associated with Autoimmune Pancreatitis.
IgG4
A specific immunoglobulin type found to be elevated in the serologic manifestations of Autoimmune Pancreatitis.
AAII and ALA0
Autoantibodies against carbonic anhydrase II and lactoferrin, respectively, which are present in Autoimmune Pancreatitis.
Addison’s Disease
A condition resulting from idiopathic adrenal atrophy, characterized by decreased cortisol, decreased aldosterone, and increased potassium.
HLA Class II Antigens (DR3 and DR4)
The genetic predisposition markers found in patients with Addison’s Disease.
Endometriosis
A reproductive disease associated with a defect in NK cell activity and reduced T lymphocyte mediated cytotoxicity.
Sjogren’s Syndrome
An exocrine gland disorder characterized by symptoms such as dry eyes (keratoconjunctivitis sicca), dry mouth (xerostomia), and recurrent salivary gland pain.
Primary Sjogrens syndrome Antigen A
Also known as Anti-α-fodrin, this is an immunologic manifestation used to identify primary Sjogren's syndrome.
Secondary Sjogrens syndrome Antigen B
The antigen associated with the secondary form of Sjogren's syndrome, often occurring alongside RA or other connective tissue diseases.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
A category of GI diseases including Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis (UC), linked to the IL-23 receptor gene.
Celiac Disease
A GI disease triggered by the ingestion of gluten (wheat and related grains), associated with HLA DQ2 and DQ8.
Tissue transglutaminase (anti-TG)
An IgA autoantibody used in the laboratory evaluation and diagnosis of symptomatic Celiac Disease.
Myasthenia Gravis
A disease of the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) involving a post-synaptic defect caused by a decrease in receptors to acetylcholine.
AChR-binding antibody
An antibody expressed in Myasthenia Gravis that is often associated with thymic hyperplasia or thymoma.
Multiple Sclerosis
An autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves) characterized by antimyelin antibodies.
Oligoclonal bands
An increase in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) immunoglobulin identified during diagnostic evaluation of Multiple Sclerosis using CSF analysis.
Anti-myelin-associated glycoprotein
The antibody associated with chronic sensorimotor demyelinating neuropathy.
Anti-Hu
Also known as antineuronal nuclear antibody type 1, associated with subacute sensory neuropathy/encephalomyelitis.
Goodpasture's syndrome
An immunologic renal disease associated with anti-glomerular basement membrane (Anti-GBM) antibodies.
