Interest

The amount of money paid for the use of borrowed capital.

Compound interest

The investment of loan or principal which is based not only on the original amount of the loan or principal but the amount of principal plus the previous accumulated interest.

Authority

Measured by the amount of resources that a manager can allocate without the need to get an approval from his or her manager.

Business plan

A formal, written document that contains a company's goals, methods for achieving those goals, and the timeline for their achievement, serving as a roadmap for the business' future.

Joint venture

A type of business arrangement wherein two or more parties agree to collaborate for a specific project within a specific period of time.

Merger

A business combination involving two or more companies agreeing to combine their assets and operations to form a completely new entity with a new identity.

Chlorine

An element used as a bleaching agent.

Metallic bond

The type of bond that exists between copper and zinc.

Covalent bond

The strong bond between hydrogen atoms.

A Matlab command that clears all data and variables stored in memory.
