professional bodies

  • profs in hsc settings will all have differing job roles and standards they need to adhere to in order to be a successful practitioner.

  • all profs in HSC must register with their professional body and adhere to their standards.

2
New cards

professional bodies do the following:

  • set out codes of conduct / practice for the profs to follow.

  • they’re active in the development of the prof. (CPD)

  • deal with any complaints about the prof and can even strike the prof off of the register.

  • deal with whistleblowing and safeguarding issues referred from managers / patients.

  • expect staff to be revalidated - means they must complete a certain amount of hrs of CPD over a number of yrs to still be seen as fit to practice.
