Why does jesus have to go through the Passion and the death, and why is his suffering so severe?

Jesus takes on all our sins and pays the consequence at once in order to overcome them. There are real consequences for sin, as shown in the passion and death, and in his suffering. There was also so much sin, that the pain he had to experience accumulated and made it so severe.

Describe jesus’ attitude towards his passion and death?

Jesus was open to his suffering. He chose to go along with the plan to better the world. He was scared, yet he did it completely willingly, going along each step of the way with trust in God, being selfless and doing it for others' benefit

Why do we call Jesus the New Adam

While adam disobeys God in the garden of eden and brings sin and death into the world, Jesus undoes this in the garden of gethsemane by making a conscious decision tp obey God and defeat sin and death

What is the ascension and what is the assumption

Ascension → Jesus rising to the Heavens, both body and soul by his own power. He sends the Holy spirit and teaches how to interpret scripture, while telling his disciples to spread their gifts among all nations

Assumption → Mary’s body and soul are assumed into Heaven by Jesus’ power, showing her unique role in God’s saving plan as the mother of God
