Mixed Number
A number that consists of a whole number and a fraction.
Whole Number
A number without fractions; an integer that is non-negative.
Numerator
The top part of a fraction that indicates how many parts of the whole are being considered.
Denominator
The bottom part of a fraction that indicates the total number of equal parts the whole is divided into.
Rounding
The process of reducing the digits in a number while trying to keep its value similar.
Regrouping
Reorganizing values in a mathematical problem, often by borrowing from another place value to simplify calculations.
Fraction
A numerical quantity that is not a whole number, expressed as one number over another.
Pizza Model
A visual aid used to represent fractions and mixed numbers through slices of pizza.
One and Nine Tenths
A mixed number representing 1 whole pizza and 9 out of 10 slices.
Subtracting Mixed Numbers
The process of removing whole numbers and fractions from other mixed numbers.
