Objective of Lab 1

To become familiar with laboratory safety regulations, response procedures, common hardware and glassware, and interpreting Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Lab 1 Prelab Requirement

Submitting the Academic Honesty and Safety Regulations commitments online through Canvas before beginning any laboratory work

Penalty for Violating Lab Safety Regulations

Immediate expulsion from the laboratory session and a grade of zero for that week

Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Goggles are completely mandatory for all lab work; gloves are occasionally recommended, and lab coats are encouraged
