Legal Drugs
Drugs allowed by the law when use correctly, including Alcohol, Tobacco/nicotine, Vapes/e-cig, Caffeine, and Prescription medicines.
Illegal Drugs
Drugs that are against the law to possess, use, make or sell, such as Cannabis, Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine (ICE), and Ecstasy (MDMA).
Stimulant
A drug category that speeds up the central nervous system, causing increased heart rate, energy, alertness, and less appetite.
Depressant
A drug category that slows down the central nervous system, resulting in slower breathing, relaxation, drowsiness, and poor coordination.
Hallucinogen
A drug category that changes perception and senses, leading to seeing/hearing things differently, confusion, and altered reality.
Peer Pressure
An influence on behavior and decision making characterized by friends encouraging certain behaviors.
Personal Values
Internal beliefs about what is right and wrong that influence behavior and decision-making.
Health impact of vaping (Sports)
Physiological effects including reduced lung function, shortness of breath, increased heart rate/blood pressure, and reduced endurance and stamina.
Credible Support Services
Reliable sources for help including Doctors, school counsellors, health professionals, and Government health websites.
Aggressive Communication
A communication style where one forces their opinion and acts in a disrespectful or threatening manner.
Assertive Communication
A communication style that is clear and confident, respects self and others, and sets boundaries.
Safe Strategies
Techniques for safety such as planning ahead, setting boundaries, using assertive communication, and staying with trusted friends.
