Aim high in steering - Find a safe path well ahead

Imaginary Target - dartboard, centers your car in traffic lane: Safe path on turns

Get the big picture - Stay back and see it all

How wide and deep? What’s in it? Objects and background, Keeps you away from billboards. Smooth stops and turns

Keep your eyes moving - Scan, don’t stare

Move eyes: Front 2 seconds Rear 5 to 8 seconds, keeps you alive at intersections. Keep eyes ahead of car

Leave yourself an out - Be prepared expect the unexpected

Have an escape route. Take path of least resistance, space on all four sides, but always in front

Make sure they see you - Don’t gamble use your horn, lights, and signals

Communicate in traffic - horn, lights signals, establish eye-to-eye contact
