Loop of Henle
And 2 – A part of the nephron in the kidney that helps remove water and salts from urine.

Capillaries
– Tiny blood vessels where substances like oxygen, nutrients, and waste are exchanged.

Proximal tubule
– The first part of the nephron tubule where useful substances like water, glucose, and salts are reabsorbed into the blood.

Glomerulus (filtration)
– A group of tiny capillaries in the kidney where blood is filtered to remove waste and extra water.

Distal tubule
– The later part of the nephron that adjusts salt and water levels before urine is sent to the collecting duct.

Bowman’s capsual
7.A cup-shaped structure in the nephron that surrounds the glomerulus and collects the filtered fluid from the blood. It is the site where filtration begins in the kidney.
Short definition: Collects the fluid filtered from the blood by the glomerulus

Renal vein
A. – Carries filtered blood away from the kidney back to the heart.

Renal artery
B. – Brings blood from the heart to the kidneys to be filtered.

Ureter
C. – A tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder.

Renal medulla
D. – The inner region of the kidney that contains structures involved in urine formation.

Renal pelvis
E. – A funnel-shaped area in the kidney that collects urine before it enters the ureter.

Renal cortex
F. – The outer layer of the kidney where filtration of blood begins.
