Kalinga, Battle of
260 BC between Ashoka and the state of Kalinga. The suffering of the war converted him to Buddhism.

Prominent King of the Chola empire in South India, he reigned from 985-1014 CE

Emperor of China. He ruled from 221-210 BC and is famous for uniting the various warring states into one empire.

The second emperor of the Tang Dynasty. 626 to 649 AD. He is considered one of China’s greatest emperors because he strengthened the empire, improved the government, and expanded its territory.

Is an ancient Chinese belief that a ruler’s right to govern comes from a divine source.
