What is Physics?
Physics is the natural science that studies matter, its fundamental constituents, its motion and behavior through space and time, and the related entities of energy and force.
What are the two main categories of Physics?
Classical Physics and Modern Physics.
What does Classical Physics study?
It deals with matter and energy at the ordinary scales of observation.
What is Mechanics?
The study of motion and its causes.
What is Kinematics?
Describes motion without considering its causes, such as velocity and acceleration.
What does Dynamics study?
Studies the forces that cause motion.
What is Newton's First Law?
An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
What is the mathematical expression of Newton's Second Law?
F = ma, where F is the net force, m is the mass, and a is the acceleration.
What is the core concept of Newton's Third Law?
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
What does Thermodynamics study?
The study of heat and its relation to other forms of energy and work.
What is the First Law of Thermodynamics?
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed.
What does the Second Law of Thermodynamics state?
The total entropy of an isolated system can only increase over time.
What is Coulomb's Law?
Describes the force between two charged particles and is expressed as F = k(q1*q2)/r^2.
What are Maxwell's Equations?
A set of four fundamental equations that describe the behavior of electric and magnetic fields.
What does Modern Physics involve?
It deals with matter and energy at atomic and subatomic levels, or at speeds approaching the speed of light.
What is Special Relativity?
Deals with the relationship between space and time for objects moving at constant speeds relative to each other.
What is the equation for mass-energy equivalence?
E = mc^2.
What is Quantum Mechanics?
Describes the behavior of matter and energy at the atomic and subatomic level.
What does Nuclear Physics study?
Studies the constituents and interactions of atomic nuclei.
What is the importance of Physics?
It is crucial for progress in technology, engineering, medicine, and other sciences.
