Adhesive skin traction used specifically for supracondylar fracture of the humerus.
Bryant’s Traction
Adhesive skin traction for children 2 years old and below, used for congenital hip dislocation or fractures of the hip and femur.
Buck’s Extension Traction
Adhesive skin traction for fracture of the hip/femur or hip dislocation in older children and adults; requires a pillow under the leg with the heel freed.
Head Halter Traction
Non-adhesive skin traction for cervical spine affection using Semi-Fowlers' position and weight equal to 10% of the patient's weight.
Cotrel Traction
A non-adhesive skin traction for scoliosis consisting of a combination of head halter and pelvic girdle traction.
Hammack Suspension Traction
Non-adhesive skin traction used for pelvic affection.
Pelvic girdle Traction
Non-adhesive skin traction for herniated nucleus pulposus or low back pain, requiring Trendelenburg position and 2 weight bags.
Foam Traction
A modified Buck's extension traction using commercially prepared foam for fracture of the hip/femur or hip dislocation.
Bohler Braun Splint
A specialized traction for tibial plateau fracture where the pin is inserted at the calcaneal bone.
Boot Cast Traction
A special traction with cast and pins for patients with hip and knee contractures, such as post-polio cases.
Collar Cast
A body cast applied for affections of the cervical spine.
Minerva Cast
A body cast extending to the pelvis used for affections of the cervical spine and upper thoracic, light cases of scoliosis, and Pott’s disease.
Rizzer’s Jacket Cast
A body cast for scoliosis or thoracolumbar affections, featuring a hood that extends up to above the knee.
Pantalon Cast
A body cast used for fracture or affection of the pelvis, often following Hammock Suspension Traction.
Short Arm Circular Cast (SACC)
Applied to the upper extremity for affection of the wrist, carpals, metacarpals, or Distal Radius-Ulnar Joint (DRUJ).
Long Arm Circular Cast (LACC)
Applied for radius-ulna and/or elbow fractures.
Munster Cast (Fuenster Cast)
A radius-ulna cast with callus formation for flexion and extension exercises; features elongation at the cubital fossa.
Functional Cast
Used for affection of the proximal humerus when callus formation is present.
Shoulder Spica Cast
Used for shoulder joint affection, proximal humerus, and shoulder dislocation.
Short Leg Circular Cast (SLCC)
Applied for ankle, tarsal, and metatarsal affection.
Long Leg Circular Cast (LLCC)
Used for affections of the tibia-fibula.
Patellar Tendon Bearing Cast (PTB)
A modified LLCC for tibia-fibula affection with callus formation, intended for mobilization.
Delvit Cast
A modified PTB used for distal 3rd tibia/fibula with callus formation to allow foot exercises.
Ischial Weight Bearing Cast
Also known as a Quadrilateral Cast, used for femoral shaft fracture with callus formation.
Cast Brace
Used for supracondylar fracture of the femur and proximal tibia with callus formation.
1 ½ Hip Spica Cast
Used for fracture of the hip and femur on one leg; features an abduction bar and is turned towards the unaffected side.
Frog Cast
A specialized hip spica cast used for congenital hip dislocation.
Sugar Tong
A mold used for compound or open fractures of the humerus.
Slipper Mold
A mold used for metatarsal and phalanges affection.
Internal Rotator Splint
Used for post-op hip arthroplasty immobilization when no fracture is present.
Shantz Collar
A basic mechanical orthopedic brace for cervical spine affection.
Philadelphia Collar
A cervical brace with a chin part designed to further restrict patient movement.
Sub-Occipito Mandibular Immobilizer (SOMI)
A mechanical brace used for cervical spine affection.
4-Poster Brace
Used for lower cervical spine or upper thoracic spine affection.
Forrester Brace
A brace used for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine affection.
Knight Taylor (KT) Brace
Indicated for thoraco-lumbar or upper thoracic spine affection.
Jewett Brace
Used for dorso-lumbar affection to prevent twisting and flexion during healing from injury or surgery.
Chairback Brace
Used for lumbo-sacral spine affection, Herniated Nucleus Pulposus, and low back pain.
Milwaukee Brace
Used for scoliosis; extends up to the chin with occiput support.
Banjo Splint
Used for peripheral nerve injury or radius-ulna fractures involving nerve injury.
Oppenheimer Splint
A brace specifically used for radial nerve injury.
Denise Browne Shoes
A specialized splint or shoe used for congenital club foot (Talipes Equinovarus).
