Procedural Fairness

• Everyone has the right to be heard

• Courts must treat everyone equally

• Evidence must present when supporting decisions

• Judges must inquire into matters of dispute

6 ‘Rule of Law’ rules

1. No one is above or beneath the law

2. Must be certain, general and equal (enforceable)

3. In line with societal values

4. Must be a independent judiciary (cannot be made by the same people determining what crimes are)

5. Must follow the ‘Procedural Fairness’

6. It should be accepted/ favoured by the public

What is anarchy

When the government or police have no control over the public (loss of effective government/ laws)

What is Tyranny?

When one person or a party have too much power and are using it badly
