Where can true freedom only be found?

Ability to choose and moral law; have to some foundation to choose using what has been revealed by God

What is the basis of our judgment and all of our interactions?

Comes through moral law and understanding of it

-have to know the moral law and why it is important

Why did God leave us to our own counsel?

We are not robots and have free will. He wants us to come to Him on our own, but in the end it is our choice.

What does venial sin do?

Damages sin and distorts sin and our relationship with God

What does mortal sin do?

Severely damages/breaks our relationship with God and the charity we have in our heart

What are the 3 requirements for a sin to be mortal?

Grave matter, full consent, and full knowledge

What can venial sins do?

Can build up to cause us to commit mortal sin

What is sin of ommission?

Not doing what we were suppose to do; depends on the circumstance if it is venial or mortal

How do we approach the question why is there evil if God is good?

Have to look at it in the light of revelation

-even through bad things He can bring out good through it; we choose evil, but He can act through it

What is a moral act?

Act that has moral content and is done with deliberate choice

What are the three things for judging a moral act?

Objective act, intentions, and circumstances

What is a big misconception of freedom?

Culture telling do whatever you want

What is moral relativism?

This is them telling you that the truth depends on you and that you determine the truth for you

-dangerous

Starts the Church and convicts the world concerning to sin/turn away from sin
