Physical
Nutrition = Appropriate food and drink at break to meet the needs of children. e.g. nut allergy, lactose intolerant, vegetarian child
Safety and Protection = Check toys and carry out risk assessments, health & safety policy, supervise so no accident occur
Exercise = Organize activities to promote development e.g. outdoor play
Intellectual
Mental Stimulation = Provide children with play equipment and resources that are stimulating for children. e.g sand, puzzles
Education = Suitable pre-school curriculum and activities suitable to intellectual development that engages children to be creative and expressive
Learning New Skills = Spending time with children to encourage questioning to learn and develop skills. e.g circle time
Emotional
Self Esteem = Praise and encourage efforts, displaying work on walls + circle time
Sense of Belonging = Take interest in child’s life and helping them to become independent encourage them to make choices e.g. tieing their shoes , go bathroom alone.
Discipline/Self Concept = Staff have rules and boundaries, children can gain good manners or rewards or get behaviour point
Social
Contact with other children = Encourage children to mix with others, interact with people in circle time or others at break/lunch
Opportunities for Social Interaction = Asking speakers to come in and talk to the children e.g policeman
Personal Relationships = Children can learn good habits from role models. e.g. learning to clean up/tidy up
