Global Ammunition Control Point (GACP)
The largest center operated by AFMC, responsible for product support and supply management for Air Force munitions and related assets.
Operational Wing
A wing that has an operations group and is capable of self-support in maintenance, supply, and munitions.
Air Base Wing
A wing that performs support functions rather than an operational mission, often maintaining and operating a base.
Specialized Mission Wing
A wing that performs a specialized mission, such as intelligence or training, and usually does not have aircraft or missiles assigned.
Maintenance Group (MXG)
An organization that supports the primary wing mission with materiel and resources, including maintenance and munitions squadrons.
Quality Assurance (QA)
A section that evaluates maintenance quality, manages deficiency reporting, and serves as the primary technical advisory agency for the group.
Munitions Accountable Systems Officer (MASO)
The individual responsible for the accountability and effective management of the munitions stockpile for an assigned stock record account number (SRAN).
Line Delivery
A munitions element that works with munitions control and weapons expeditors to support flightline activity and manage munitions holding areas.
Operation Plan (OPLAN)
Any plan for the conduct of military operations, except for the single integrated operational plan, prepared by combatant commanders.
Base Support Plan (BSP)
A plan developed for locations with a permanent Air Force presence that translates major command planning concepts into base-level capabilities.
Munitions Employment Plan (MEP)
A detailed plan tailored specifically to munitions operations to provide guidance for conducting munitions activities at forward sites.
Warning Order (WARNORD)
A crisis action order that initiates the development of a course of action and provides the mission and objectives without authorizing force movement.
Execute Order (EXORD)
An order issued by the Secretary of Defense to direct the deployment or employment of forces.
463L Air Cargo Pallet (HCU−6/E)
A standard aircraft load pallet with a capacity of 10,000lbs, primarily used for transported mobility assets.
Military Shipping Label (MSL)
A label attached to palletized loads containing the transportation control number (TCN), SRAN, and dimensions.
Air Force Inspection System (AFIS)
A coherent system of inspections conducted to ensure mission readiness equals inspection readiness.
Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT)
A web-based self-assessment tool part of the AFIS that records and communicates a unit's program status throughout the chain of command.
Protection Level 1 (PL1)
Assigned to resources for which loss or compromise would result in great harm to the strategic capability of the United States, such as nuclear weapons.
Restricted Area
An area on a military base requiring special security measures to prevent unauthorized entry, established for PL1, PL2, or PL3 resources.
National Defense Area
A temporary secure area established in the United States to protect federal government PL1, PL2, or PL3 resources on non-DoD land.
Controlled Inventory Item Code (CIIC)
A code assigned by item managers to identify the degree of security required for a munitions item in storage or transit.
Operations Security (OPSEC)
A program concerned with protecting sensitive information and activities that could telegraph military capabilities to the enemy.
Personnel Reliability Program (PRP)
A program intended to ensure the highest standards of individual reliability for personnel working with nuclear weapons or critical components.
Two-Person Concept
A security measure requiring at least two certified individuals to be present where a lone individual could tamper with a nuclear weapon.
No-Lone Zone
An area containing nuclear weapons, systems, or critical components where the two-person concept must be strictly enforced.
Dull Sword
A reporting flag word used to identify a nuclear weapon safety deficiency that is not classified as an accident or incident.
Cardinal Principle of Explosives Safety
To expose the minimum number of people to the minimum amount of explosives for the minimum amount of time.
Casuals
Personnel not normally part of an explosives operation whose duties require their presence, such as safety or inspection personnel.
Firebreak
An area intended to limit the spread of fire by restricting the fuel source, ideally at least 50feet around potential explosive sites.
Hazard Class 1.1
Explosives involving a mass explosion hazard, meaning the entire load can detonate almost simultaneously.
Intrinsic Radiation (INRAD)
Ionizing radiation inherent to the design of nuclear weapons, primarily x-rays, gamma, and neutron radiation.
As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA)
A safety concept involving every reasonable effort to maintain radiation exposure as low as practical.
