Substantivo
The grammatical class that functions as a name and serves to name beings.
Artigo
A word class used specifically to determine the noun.
Pronome
A class used to either accompany or replace a noun.
Adjetivo
A word class used to characterize the noun.
Numeral
A class used to quantify the noun.
Concordância Nominal
The requirement that articles, adjectives, numerals, and pronouns respect the gender and number of the noun they refer to.
Nominal Flexion
The grammatical changes in nouns involving gender (masculine/feminine) and number (singular/plural).
Pronome Adjetivo
A pronoun that accompanies a noun, often appearing before it.
Pronome Substantivo
A pronoun that replaces a noun.
Determinantes
A term in Portuguese grammar used to refer collectively to articles and adjective pronouns.
Numeral Adjetivo
A numeral that accompanies the noun.
Numeral Substantivo
A numeral that functions as the noun itself.
Substantivo Primitivo
A noun that is the first of all and from which others are formed.
Substantivo Derivado
A noun that is formed from a primitive noun.
Adjectives (Four Types)
Adjectives are categorized as expressing characteristics, qualities, states, or relations.
Substantivação
The process of transforming another word class, such as a verb or conjunction, into a noun by placing an article before it.
Quaisquer
The internal plural form of the word 'Qualquer'.
Internal Plural
A unique pluralization occurs inside the word rather than at the end, as seen in 'Qualquer' becoming 'Quaisquer'.
Substantivo Comum
Nouns that do not designate specific beings.
Substantivo Próprio
Nouns that name specific people, places, or institutions.
Alface
A noun that is grammatically feminine and singular in Portuguese, despite common usage errors.
