Casting
Pouring liquid metal into a shape to mould it- good for hollow metals
Rolling
Creates similar shapes to extrusion but rolled through
Drawing
Same as Extrusion except tensile stress is applied to decrease surface area
Extrusion
Material pushed through a shaped die to create continuous cross section profiles (bars and beams)
Annealing
heat treatment to increase ductility in brittle materials (steel and copper)
Moulding (Polymers)
Plastic is melted and put in a mould to shape
Extrusion (Polymers)
Injection Moulding
a highly efficient process in which melted plastic is injected into a metal mould (complex shapes)
Blown film Extrusion (Polymers)
Same as regular extrusion however air is blown through to make a bubble for hollow objects
