Bitmap
A stored set of numeric pixel descriptions representing an image.
RGB
An additive color model that generates colors by mixing red, green, and blue.
CMYK
A color model that uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (key) dyes for color printing.
Resolution
The number of pixels displayed per linear measurement unit, usually stated in dots per inch (dpi).
Dithering
A technique that generates color approximations by placing small dots of different colors in an interlocking pattern.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
Technology that combines optical scanning with specialized software to interpret bitmap content.
Laser Printers
Printers that operate using an electrical charge to attract ink to create an image.
Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD)
Flat panel displays that use liquid crystals sandwiched between polarizing filters.
Speech Recognition
The ability of a system to recognize and process spoken language.
