Cosmological argument
Cosmological argument is a posteriori arguing that the existence of the universe requires a cause which is God
Aquinas first cause
Everything has a cause, you cant have an infinite regress of causes therefore there must be a first uncaused cause which is God
Contingency argument
Everything in the universe is contingent, if everything were contingent there must be a time where nothing existed but something exists so there must be a necessary being
Strength
Based on real world experiences so its not just logic
David Hume criticism
We cant assume everything has a cause and the universe might just exist as a brute fact
Kant criticism
Idea of a necessary being is flawed and existence is not a property you can assign
