Artificial Selection
The process by which humans decide which traits are desirable and select particular individuals to breed and pass on those traits to the next generation.
Gene Flow
The movement of alleles between populations of the same species, which keeps the gene pools genetically connected.
Genetic Drift
A random event that lowers the genetic diversity of a population and can change the allele frequency in that gene pool.
Fitness
The relative ability of an organism to survive and reproduce based on its genetic traits; higher fitness equals higher survivability and reproductive success.
