To experience a spiritual birth from God (John 3:3).

What lives inside a believer after salvation?

The Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19).

How should believers relate to the lost world according to 2 Corinthians 6:14-18?

They should maintain a distinction between themselves and the lost.

How does 2 Corinthians 5:17 describe a believer?

A new creature; old things are passed away and all things are become new.

What new relationship does a believer have with God?

God is their Heavenly Father and they are His child.

How does God deal with believers after salvation?

As His children, not as sinners.

What are the nine ways God deals with His children?

Loves and cares, protects, provides, guides and teaches, helps, does not discourage, disciplines, feeds, and has a plan for them.

How does God love and care for His children?

Like a good father (1 Peter 5:7).

How does God protect His children?

Like a good father protects his child (Matthew 18:6).

How does God provide for His children?

He supplies their needs (Philippians 4:19).

How does God guide and teach His children?

Through the Holy Spirit (John 14:26).

How does God help His children?

He is a present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

How does God avoid discouraging His children?

He deals with them lovingly (Colossians 3:21).

How does God discipline His children?

Through loving correction (Hebrews 12:5-11).

How does God feed His children?

Through His Word (Matthew 4:4).

What plan does God have for His children?

To work all things for good and conform them to Christ (Romans 8:28-29).

Does God ever purposely hurt His children?

No. He only does what helps them grow and mature.

Why can believers trust God's dealings with them?

God never makes mistakes and His ways are perfect.

Did believers lose their physical nature when they were saved?

No.

How many natures does a believer have after salvation?

Two.

What is the old nature?

Physical, sinful, and in Adam's image.

What is the new nature?

Spiritual, perfect, and in God's image.

Which nature controls a believer?

The one that is fed the most.

Will Christians still sin after salvation?

Yes, because they still possess the old sin nature.

What happens when a Christian sins?

God disciplines them as His child, not as an outsider.

Can a believer lose membership in God's family by sinning?

No.

What should a believer do when they sin?

Confess it, trust Christ's blood for cleansing, and repent.

According to 1 John 1:9, what does God do when we confess our sins?

He forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

What does repentance mean?

Turning away from sin.

Why should believers repent?

To turn from sin and pursue obedience to God.
