Data Center Energy

1) This can be a Win-Win-Win. DC’s can sell power back to the grid during usage downtimes and power emergencies.
2) BYOE: “Bring Your Own Energy”- Data Centers must identify new generation.
3) Expedited state and local Permitting for smaller power systems.

Abortion Position

1) This is in the State Constitution and cannot be changed by a governor- or even the legislature— without another vote of the people.

2) Colorado v. First Choice Pregnancy Centers: I was pleased to see the recent UNANIMOUS Supreme Court Overturn Colorado’s law outlawing Pregnancy Centers and protecting free speech for care providers who want to help women.

Questions For Scott Bottoms

1) MINISTRY: You and Victor Marx are both pastors. How do you manage the finances of your church, and what are your thoughts on how Mr. Marx manages his ministry?

2) Artificial Intelligence: "We ran Victor Marx’s policy platform through an AI detector, and it came up as 100% AI. What would happen if we did the same for your policy platform?”

3) Non-Marx Question: The Supreme Court has issued a number of bipartisan opinions overturning Colorado policies and law, from the Masterpiece Cakeshop decision to First Choice Pregnancy Centers. What’s the next CO law that the Supreme Court should overturn Unanimously?

Debate Goals

1) You get stuff done. You’ve delivered results people will notice: Better roads. Safer schools. Lower taxes.

How do you justify your low score on the Liberty Scorecard?

I base my decisions and votes on the state and federal constitution, and I listen to the voters. It's that simple. I do not base my votes on the demands of any interest or group of individuals.

Here’s what I’ll do as Governor: I’ll get stuff done, and I’ll veto bad bills. But we must have a budget, and we must fund schools.

ICE Enforcement and Tariffs have hurt Colorado’s workforce and raised prices. What will you do to fight Trump?

1) An open line of communication works wonders. New trade agreements can be good for Colorado if we are constantly communicating with the Administration.
2) The workforce in Colorado is under all kinds of pressure self-inflicted by one-party Democratic rule in Colorado. We tax overtime when other states don’t. We add taxes and fees on every paycheck. We’ve got dozens of policies that raise the cost of living, especially for the part of the workforce most impacted by immigration enforcement.

What will you do if Trump threatens to send federal law enforcement here?

1) Communicate.
2) Remind the President that federal law it is clear that the Governor decides. That’s how it works with Disaster Declarations: the process begins with a Governor’s requests.
3) If the President’s offer would solve a real problem, we should consider it. The national Guard in DC led to:
- Auto Theft down 60%.
-1,000 fewer violent crimes.
-Federal law enforcement can be good for municipal budgets: it means the Feds will pay the bill on an expensive endeavor.
