CVP
Central Venous Pressure; normal range is 2 – 6 mmHg.
PAP
Pulmonary Artery Pressure; normal range is 15 – 25 / 8 – 15 mmHg.
PCWP
Wedge Pressure; normal range is 4 – 12 mmHg.
Cardiac Output
Amount of blood the heart pumps; normal range is 4 – 8 L/min.
SVR
Systemic Vascular Resistance; normal range is 800 – 1600 dynes/sec/cm⁵.
pH
Normal range for Arterial Blood Gas is 7.35 – 7.45.
PaCO₂
Partial pressure of carbon dioxide; normal range is 35 – 45 mmHg.
PaO₂
Partial pressure of oxygen; normal range is 80 – 100 mmHg.
HCO₃
Bicarbonate level; normal range is 22 – 26 mEq/L.
SaO₂
Oxygen saturation; normal range is 95 – 100%.
Base Excess
Normal range is ±2.
Tidal Volume (Vt)
Initial setting for ventilation; normal range is 6–8 mL/kg IBW.
RR (Respiratory Rate)
Initial setting for adults; normal range is 12–20 bpm.
PEEP
Positive End-Expiratory Pressure; normal setting is 5 cmH₂O.
FiO₂
Fraction of Inspired Oxygen; normal setting is 40–60%.
SpO₂ Goal
Target oxygen saturation for most patients; goal is ≥ 92%.
P/F Ratio

MIP (NIF)
Maximum Inspiratory Pressure; normal range is –80 to –100 cmH₂O.
RSBI
Rapid Shallow Breathing Index; good for weaning if < 105.

Alveolar-arterial gradient; normal is < 25 mmHg.
VD/VT Ratio
Normal range is 0.2 – 0.4.
C(a–v)O₂
Difference in oxygen content; normal range is 4 – 6 vol%.
Static Compliance (Cstat)
Normal range is 60 – 100 mL/cmH₂O.
Dynamic Compliance (Cdyn)
Normal range is 30 – 40 mL/cmH₂O.
