“Honest Iago, that looks dead with grieving, Speak, who began this? On thy love I charge thee.”

  • AO2: Othello suggests that Iago has a moral obligation to tell him

  • AO2: the epithet “honest” is often used by Othello to describe Iago → Shakespeare highlighting the betrayal from Iago

3
New cards

“Reputation, reputation, reputation!”

  • AO2: the prose in this scene mirrors loss of social status but also makes it easier for Iago to manipulate Cassio
