Sorority

Soror

Membership Classification

Undergraduate Chapters
Established by charter to a collegiate institution or a specified geographic area for college students.
Graduate Chapters
Set up specifically for alumni in a specified geographical area.
Boule Meeting Frequency
Biennually (every 2 years).
Reason for Incorporation
To preserve the ideals, names, colors, and mission of the sorority.
Role of the Directorate
The governing body of Alpha Kappa Alpha when the Boule is not in session.
Purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority

There are eighteen offices in the Directorate.
Supreme Basileus
The chief officer of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
Regional Directors
Some members are elected geographically, and you must serve at least one term as Basileus of a graduate chapter to be eligible to run.
Supreme Basileus Election
Elected one year in advance; the Anti-Basileus becomes the Basileus.
