Causation Def
A link between or among variables that implies or states cause and effect, which includes the direction of the causal relationship
Geographic Correlation
sets the argument in a specific area
Timing Correlation
sets the argument in a specific time frame
Entity Based correlation
The argument is based around a specific entity (person, animal, etc.)
The EVID represents the
Correlation
The Conclusion represents the
Casation
Correlation Def
Any link between two variables that does not express causation, no matter how weak
Denied Causality in the CONC
Will NEVER create a correlation causation
What exactly is the flaw doing?
The flaw in the ARG does not present EVID to prove the particular Causal CONC. Which means the correlation could be explained by some OTHER causal relationship.
TM thoughts Competing causal relationships
X causing the observed correlation and Y causing it can not exist at the same time
These competing causal explanations are working against one another. The plausibility of each provides a reason to doubt the other
More or Better Correlations
Additional contexts in which the correlation holds, they become increasingly certain of a causal relationship
ALT cause WKN
Putting fourth an ALT cause for the correlation in EVID would WKN the ARG
ALT cause STN
Bringing up an ALT cause while saying it is NOT responsible for the correlation will STN the ARG by elimination
Reverse Causality
Asserting that the causal relationship is actually the reverse of the one asserted in the CONC could WKN the argument
No Cause, No Effect
STN
No Cause, Yes Effect
WKN
