attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
a disease characterized by inappropriate inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. It occurs in infancy, childhood, or both, and may be known as hyperkinetic syndrome, hyperactivity, minimal brain damage, minimal brain dysfunction, and minimal cerebral dysfunction.
dependency
the psychic craving for a drug or a substance. it may or may not be accompanied by physiological dependency.
euphoria
a feeling of good health. it is a term that also means an exaggerated feeling of well-being, elation.
obesity
excessive amount of fat on the body, exogenous obesity is due to excessive intake of food.
tolerance
the progressive decrease in the effectiveness of a drug.
withdrawl
the removal of a substance to which the individual has become addicted. Sudden withdrawal of certain substances can be very dangerous. This also refers to a set of psychological symptoms that occur when an individual is no longer taking a substance to which he or she has become addicted.
