A parenting style that is high in demandingness but low in responsiveness, where parents enforce strict rules without warmth.
Permissive Parenting
A parenting style that is high in responsiveness but low in demandingness, where parents give children significant freedom and act more like friends.
Disengaged Parenting
A parenting style low in both responsiveness and demandingness, where parents are neglectful and self-centered.
Demandingness
The degree to which parents set expectations, rules, and discipline their children.
Responsiveness
The degree of warmth, sensitivity, and emotional support that parents provide to their children.

A parenting approach where children are given some freedom to make choices, but within boundaries set by the parents.
