Occupation
What person wants to or needs to do daily - experienced through tasks & activities; contributes to participation
Occupational Performance
the doing of meaningful tasks, acts, roles through meaningful interactions between the person and environment.
Occupational Participation
The active involvement & engagement in occupations & contributes to the well-being of the individual and community.
Person
Series of intrinsic factors that comprise of your abilities.
Include: psychological, physiological, cognitive, spiritual, neurobehavioural
They will either support or hinder your occupational performance.
Human Agency
Humans innate drive to master ones environment - motivation
Neurobehavioural
sensory & motor systems - vestibular, proprioceptive - they facilitate compensatory or adaptive responses
Physiological
Physical health, fitness & abilities - endurance, movement, strength
Psychological
internal processes used by individual that informs their actions and also how they interpret other actions & how performance contributes to their sense of self - self-awareness, emotional state, self-esteem
Cognitive
mechanisms used for language comprehension & production, pattern recognition, task organization - NB for task performance
Spiritual
>signs & symbols provide influence & meaning to everyday life
>contributes to a greater understanding of sense of self and place in the world
Built environment & technology
Physical properties such as design, use of tools & appliances & assistive technology (human built)
Natural/Normal Environment
Geographical features that cannot be modified such as a terrain, sunlight, climate & air quality.
Culture & Values
Values, beliefs, customs, decision making, organizing practices, economic characteristics and behavior that’s passed from one generation to the next with influences from social expectations.
Social & economic Systems
Social capital: extent to which members of society cooperate & support one another for mutual benefits - leading to social cohesion & health.
Social Support
Being a part of a greater whole that produces a sense of belonging
Includes - informational, tangible and person to person.

Assistive devices or technology will be the items or products to increase, maintain or improve functional capabilities for disabled
