Distal

relatively farther from the root of limb

Superficial

relatively closer to the exterior of the structure

Deep

relatively closer to the interior of the structure

Contralateral

the opposite side of the body

Inferior

toward the tail or lower part of the structure

Posterior (Aspect)

toward or at the rear of the structure

Intermediate

a point between other structures

Ipsilateral

on the same side of the body

Lateral

relatively further from midline or center plane
