What is popular sovereignty?
If a government goes against the will of the people, the people have the right to change the government.
What is a limited government?
When a government’s power is restricted by laws in order to protect individual rights and liberties.
What is republicanism?
A form of government where citizens are represented by elected officials.
What does it mean when a government has a separation of powers?
The government is divided into branches and each branch has separate, independent powers.
What does it mean when a government has checks and balances?
Each branch of government can “check” or limit the power of other branches.
