Cloud Service Models: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS

Cloud Service Models

IaaS

A technology that allows multiple virtual machines to run on a single physical server, with the cloud provider managing the hypervisor and underlying hardware.

Server Virtualization

A technology that enables cloud providers to offer scalable storage solutions that can be customized based on the customer's business needs.

Storage Virtualization

A technology that allows cloud providers to create virtual private cloud (VPC) networks for each customer, isolating them from others, and enabling communication between virtual machines within the network.

Network Virtualization

A design approach that ensures continuous operation and minimal downtime by deploying redundant components and systems to handle failures or outages.

High Availability

Copies of data or applications that are created and stored separately to protect against data loss or system failures.

Backups

a cloud service model that provides a platform on which customers can deploy their applications or store their data, with the cloud provider managing the virtual servers and related services.

PaaS

A branch of PaaS that abstracts the infrastructure details from the developer and allows them to deploy and scale applications without managing servers or worrying about resource consumption.

Serverless Computing

a cloud service model that provides software applications over the internet, allowing customers to use and access the software without the need to manage the underlying infrastructure or applications.
