Zonula ciliaris
A group of fibers that connect the ciliary body to the lens, helping to hold the lens in place.
Choroid
A layer of blood vessels between the retina and sclera that provides nourishment to the outer layers of the retina.
Blind spot
The part of the visual field where the optic nerve leaves the eye and there are no photoreceptors.
Optic nerve
The nerve that transmits visual information from the retina to the brain.
Retina
The thin layer of tissue at the back of the eye that converts light into neural signals.
Sclera
The white outer coat of the eyeball; provides structural support.
Lens
A transparent structure in the eye that helps to focus light onto the retina.
Aqueous humor
The clear fluid in the front part of the eye that helps maintain intraocular pressure.
Pupil
The adjustable opening in the center of the iris that regulates the amount of light entering the eye.
Cornea
The transparent front part of the eye that covers the iris and pupil, playing a key role in focusing light.
Iris
The colored part of the eye that controls the size of the pupil and thus the amount of light that enters the eye.
Hyaloid fossa
A depression in the vitreous body of the eye where the hyaloid canal is located.
