Visual Acuity
The ability to see objects clearly; often tested with a Snellen chart.
Accommodation
The process by which the lens changes shape to focus on objects at different distances.
Myopia
A condition also known as near-sightedness where distant objects appear blurry.
Astigmatism
A common vision condition that causes blurred vision due to uneven curvature of the lens or cornea.
Color Blindness
A condition caused by the dysfunction of one or more types of cones in the retina, affecting color perception.
Blind Spot
An area of the retina without photoreceptors where a visual image cannot be formed.
Pupillary Light Reflex
The reflex contraction of the pupil in response to light, involving both direct and consensual responses.
Near Point Accommodation
The closest distance at which the eye can focus on an object.
Eye Dominance
The tendency to prefer visual input from one eye over the other.
Visual Reaction Time
The time it takes for visual information to travel to the brain and initiate a motor response.
