INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES (RA 8293)
It is AN ACT PRESCRIBING THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CODE AND ESTABLISHING THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OFFICE, PROVIDING FOR ITS POWERS AND FUNCTIONS, and AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. It shall protect and secure the exclusive rights of scientists, inventors, artists and other gifted citizens to their intellectual property and creations, particularly when beneficial to the people, for such periods as provided in this Act.

OPTICAL MEDIA ACT OF 2003 (RA 9239)
___________ is a statute that regulates optical media, reorganizes the video gram regulatory board for this purpose, imposes fines, and serves other functions. This Act establishes the country's fundamental principles for protecting and promoting intellectual property rights. It regulates the production, mastering, replication, importation, and exportation of optical media.
Optical Media
A storage medium or device in which information, including sounds and/or images, or software code, has been stored, either by mastering and/or replication, which may be accessed and read using a lens scanning mechanism employing a high intensity light source such as a laser or any such other means as may be developed in the future.
