Sensory Nerve; responsible for hearing and balance

Oculomotor (III)

Motor Nerve; responsible for controlling most eye movements, eyelid elevation and pupil constriction

Trochlear (IV)

Motor Nerve; responsible for downward eye movement,somatic

Abducens

Motor Nerve; provides innervation to lateral rectus muscle, somatic

Spinal Accessory (XI)

Motor Nerve; responsible for movement of sternocleidomastoid and trapezius, somatic

Hypoglossal (XII)

Motor Nerve; responsible for movement and shape of the tongue, somatic

Trigeminal (V)

Mixed Nerve;
General Sensory: Skin, mouth, nose (facial sensation)
Somatic Motor: Chewing

Facial Nerve (VII)

Mixed Nerve;
General sensory: Palate, external ear
Special sensory: Anterior taste buds
Somatic Motor: Make faces
Visceral Motor: Make tears and responsible for salivary glands

Glossopharyngeal Nerve (IX)

General sensory: Palate. tonsils, middle ear
Special sensory: Anterior taste buds
Somatic Motor: Swallowing
Visceral Motor: Parotid salivary gland

Vagus Nerve

General sensory: Minimal
Special sensory: Pharyngeal taste buds
Somatic Motor: Speaking and swallowing
Visceral Motor: Responsible for supplying most organs in the body
