superior vena cava
large vein that carries deoxygenated blood from the head and neck to the right atrium

inferior vena cava
large vein that carries deoxygenated blood from the lower body to the right atrium

right atrium
superior chamber of the heart that recieves deoxygenated blood from the body

left atrium
superior chamber of the heart that recieves oxygenated blood from the lungs

tricuspid valve
located between the right atrium and right ventricle

bicuspid valve or mitral valve
located between the left atrium and left ventricle

right ventricle
inferior chamber of the heart; pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs

left ventricle

pulmonary arteries

prevents backflow of blood from the aorta into the left ventricle
