Participio Pasado (Past Participle)

Used with perfect tenses. Regular forms for -ar, -er, and -ir verbs are -ado, -ido, -ido respectively.

Pretérito Perfecto (Present Perfect) Formula

haber (present) + participio pasado, equivalent to 'I have eaten' or 'We have studied'.

Haber Forms (Present)

he, has, ha, hemos, habéis, han.

Examples of Pretérito Perfecto

He comido. Hemos estudiado. Han llegado.

hoy, esta semana, este mes, recientemente, ya, todavía no.

Pluscuamperfecto (Past Perfect) Formula

haber (imperfecto) + participio pasado, equivalent to 'had eaten' or 'had studied'.

Haber Forms (Imperfect)

había, habías, había, habíamos, habíais, habían.

Examples of Pluscuamperfecto

Yo había comido. Nosotros habíamos estudiado. Ellos habían salido.

antes de, cuando, ya.

Future Tense Formula

Add endings to the ENTIRE infinitive.

Future Tense Endings

yo -é, tú -ás, él/ella/Ud. -á, nosotros -emos, vosotros -éis, ellos/Uds. -án.

hablaré, hablarás, hablará, hablaremos, hablaréis, hablarán.

Condicional (Conditional) Formula

Add endings to the entire infinitive, equivalent to 'would eat', 'would study', or 'would go'.

Conditional Endings

yo -ía, tú -ías, él/ella/Ud. -ía, nosotros -íamos, vosotros -íais, ellos/Uds. -ían.

Examples of Conditional (Hablar)

hablaría, hablarías, hablaría, hablaríamos, hablaríais, hablarían.

Example of Conditional

Yo viajaría a España. Nosotros estudiaríamos más.
