1st Amendment

Freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition.

2nd Amendment

Individual has the right to own firearms for purposes such as self defense.

3rd Amendment

Prohibits the government from forcing citizens to house, protects you from the government intruding your property.

4th Amendment:

Protects citizens from unreasonable government searches and seziures

5th Amendment

Guarantees rights protecting citizens from government abuse in legal proceedings.

6th Amendment

Guarantees the right of criminal defendants. Right to an attorney and right to hear and question all witnesses. Trial by jury.

7th Amendment

right to a jury trial in federal courts to settle all disputes about property worth more than $20 ( judge only if both parties agree)

8th Amendment

Choice to stay in jail or pay a bail. Forbids excessive bail and bail depends on the crime.

9th Amendment

establishes that the people hold other rights not listed in the written text.

10th Amendment

Any powers not in the Constitution or not specifically given to the national government are reserved states or for people.

11th Amendment

A state cannot be sued by a person, state, or country in a federal court without consent from the state; You cannot sue a state that is not your own; Not foreign entity can sue a state.

12th Amendment

President and Vice President run on the same ticket.

13th Amendment

Abolished slavery

14th Amendment

Declared former slave citizens and required equal protection under the law. All men are eligible for citizenship. Equal protection of the laws.

15th Amendment

All men have the right to vote.

President takes office January 20th instead of March 4th.

21st Amendment

Alcohol is unbanned

President can only serve 2 terms.

Washington DC resident can only vote for president.

24th Amendment

Voting is free, no more fees on voting.

25th Amendment

Presidential succession: procedures if a president dies, resigns, or is impeached, vice president will become president.

Voting age set at 18

27th Amendment

Congress cannot accept a pay raise until the next term.
