Self Serving Bias

Situational Attribution
Explaining someone’s behavior based on external factors rather than their personality

The tendency to give people answers that make them look good/socially acceptable but aren’t necessarily true

When an unknown outside factor influences both variables in a study that makes it seem like they are directly related when they aren’t
EX: Ice cream increase in sales and people drowning increase due to hot weather
