  • yom kippur: this is a day of atonement for jews where they abstain and fast from food luxuries, bathing and other things to solely reflect and connect with God. In exodus the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt and they were told to sarifice a lamb and put the blood on the door so that the angel of death passed over and did not kill their first born son. Then in the new testament, Jesus fulfilled this by being the ultimate sacrifice when he was crucified on the cross to save all of us. He was God’s only son and he sacrificed him to give us eternal life in heaven. Jesus also said it himself that he is the lamb of God
