Biome
A distinct biological community shaped by climate.
Deforestation
The clearing or thinning of forests by humans for agricultural and other purposes.
Slash-and-burn agriculture
A method of farming where existing vegetation is cut down and burned to clear the land and enrich the soil for crops.
Evapotranspiration
The process of water evaporation from soil and transpiration from plants, crucial for the water cycle.
Aquifer depletion
The extraction of groundwater faster than it can naturally recharge, leading to water shortages.
