consumerism
The preoccupation of society with the acquisition of consumer goods.
measure
A plan or course of action taken to achieve a particular purpose.
government
The governing body of a nation, state, or community.
circumstances
A fact or condition connected with or relevant to an event or action.
disability
A physical or mental condition that limits a person's movements, senses, or activities.
solidarity
Unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest.
millennium
A period of one thousand years.
ensure justice
To make certain that fair treatment and the administration of law are upheld.
violate human rights
To break, disregard, or infringe upon the basic rights and freedoms to which all human beings are entitled.
offence
A breach of a law or rule; an illegal act.
income inequality
The extent to which income is distributed in an uneven manner among a population.
poverty line
The minimum level of income deemed adequate in a particular country.
human trafficking
The unlawful act of transporting or coercing people in order to benefit from their work or service, typically for forced labor or sexual exploitation.
social exclusion
The process in which individuals are systematically blocked from various rights, opportunities, and resources that are normally available to members of a different group.

To think about a problem or a situation and decide how to deal with it.
raise public awareness
To increase the level of understanding or knowledge among the general population about a particular issue.
domestic violence
Violent or aggressive behavior within the home, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse or partner.

The act of compelling observance of or compliance with a law, rule, or obligation.
