Anterosuperior iliac spine
A bony landmark of the anterior pelvis, often abbreviated as ASIS.
Anteroinferior iliac spine
A bony landmark situated below the anterosuperior iliac spine on the pelvis.
Acetabulum
The socket of the hip bone that receives the head of the femur.
Obturator foramen
The large opening created by the ischium and pubis bones of the pelvis through which nerves and blood vessels pass.
External iliac nodes
Lymph nodes that receives drainage from the common iliac nodes.
Internal iliac nodes
Lymph nodes also referred to as hypogastric nodes.
Cisterna chyli
A dilated sac at the lower end of the thoracic duct into which the lumbar and intestinal trunks drain.
Hard palate
Anatomical structure located at the level of 1 Cervical.
Hyoid bone
Anatomical structure located at the level of 4 Cervical.
Thyroid cartilage
Anatomical structure located at the level of 4−5 Cervical.
Cricoid cartilage
Anatomical structure located at the level of 6 Cervical.
Suprasternal notch
Anatomical structure located at the level of 2−3 Thoracic.
Angle of Louis
Anatomical structure located at the level of 4−5 Thoracic.
Xiphoid process
Anatomical structure located at the level of 9−10 Thoracic.
Transpyloric plane
Anatomical surface projection located at the level of 1 Lumbar.
Umbilicus
Anatomical structure located at the level of 3−4 Lumbar.
Anterior iliac crest
Anatomical landmark located at the level of 5 Lumbar.
Vertical shifts
Translational shifts involving anterior and posterior directions.
Longitudinal shifts
Translational shifts involving inferior and superior directions.
Yaw
A rotational shift occurring in the coronal plane.
Pitch
A rotational shift occurring in the sagittal plane.
Roll
A rotational shift occurring in the transverse or axial plane.
